The deal,in plainlanguage.
How we make money, what we are not qualified to tell you, and what happens when we get something wrong. Short, because there is not much to it.

Using this site
SOUL is published for personal, non-commercial reading. You are welcome to read it, quote it with a link back, and send it to a friend. You may not republish it wholesale, scrape it to train a commercial product, or present our writing as your own.
Affiliate relationships
We earn a commission when you buy through some of the links on this site, at no extra cost to you. This is stated on every page that carries one, above the content rather than buried at the bottom.
That commission never decides what appears here. Everything written about was bought at full price with our own money, and brands cannot pay for a place, see a page before it publishes, or request changes afterwards. Our full method is on the how we test page.
What we are not
We are not a shop. Nothing is sold here and no payment is ever taken on this site — every purchase happens on the retailer's own site under their terms, their pricing and their returns policy.
We are also not qualified to give medical, dermatological or financial advice, and nothing here should be read as any of those. Notes on nail products describe our own experience with them. If you have a skin condition, an allergy or a reaction, see a professional rather than a website.
Accuracy, and being wrong
Prices, shade ranges and stock change constantly, and we cannot keep every figure current. Check the retailer before buying — their information is the one that counts.
We will get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we correct the page and date the correction rather than editing it away silently. If you spot an error, telling us is genuinely welcome.
Links out
Links to other sites are there because we found them useful. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they contain or how they treat your data.
Liability
This site is provided as it is. We take real care over what goes on it, but we cannot accept liability for a purchase decision you make after reading it. Nothing here removes any statutory consumer right you have against a retailer.
Getting in touch
Questions about any of this, including a correction or a takedown request, go through the contact page. A real person reads every message.
Changes
These terms may change as the site does. The date at the top always reflects the current version. Last updated 21 August 2026.
